NINE LIONS
The "Nine Lions" is one of the lion dances among the citizens of Yongkang. It has distinctive national, folk and regional artistic characteristics, and has a high artistic taste and profound artistic influence. Especially in recent years, the continuous improvement and innovation of mass writers and the persistent perseverance of some folk artists, "Nine Lions", like the waist drum in Ansai, Shaanxi and the Andai dance in Inner Mongolia, has become a major national cultural brand and is well-known.
According to legend, the "Nine Lions Picture" originated in Shiqiaotou Village, Xiangzhu Town, Yongkang City, about 300 years ago during the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty. At that time, the weather was long and dry, and the county grandfather of Jinhua Mansion heard that there was a Shiqiaotou Village in Yongkang where the Buddha statue of Miss Shijing was enshrined, and he took people to Shiqiao Village to ask for rain. The head of the village ordered the villagers to prepare various programs to welcome them. In the village, an ingenious stickman took out a broken square table at home, tied a long bamboo pole in the middle of the rung, and hung a colored ball on the top of the pole.
The "Nine Lions Picture" is fixed and named with "Nine", taking the auspicious meanings of "longevity" and abundance. Performance activities. Later, it developed into the performance of "Nine Lions" in all major festivals and auspicious celebrations. Therefore, there is a folk song in Yongkang: "Festivals come, nine lions dance".
THE FANGYAN SCENIC AREA
The Fangyan Scenic Area, located 25km away to the east downtown of Yongkang City, Zhejiang Provinces, is known as the “fairyland on earth” since long time ago because of the unique rocks and beautiful landscape. The mountains here rise from flat land, each with the four sides as steep and straight as cut by knives; they rise to the sky with extraordinary precipitous look, just like a square castle if looked in distance and is thus named Fangyan (“Square rocks” in Chinese). With the height reaching 384m, the scenic area attracted numerous visitors to come since the Song Dynasty. It is a marvelous landscape getting rooted in the Danxia landform. Early in 1985, Fangyan Scenic Area was approved to be included in the first provincial-level important scenic areas of Zhejiang Province in recognition of its breathtaking perilous peaks and steep cliffs, the miraculous stone carvings from the nature’s craftsmanship, the start-studded grottos and stone chambers, and the waterfalls and flat lakes in radiant splendor. There are eight major attractions here, including the Fangyan Mountain, the Five Peaks, Nanyan, Shigu Shack, the Lingshan Lake Martyrs Cemetery, and the Number One Scholar Lake, with the total area reaching 92 square kilometers.
ZHOUSHAN SECOND VILLAGE
The ancient village of Zhoushan Second Village is located in Zhoushan Town, Yongkang City, with a history of over 800 years. It is surrounded by mountains and the whole village is in the shape of a gourd, with a FengShui pattern of “Negative Yin Yang, and Mountain Water”. The main peak is assisting “The Dragon” on the left, the hills assisting “Qinglong”, the Crescent-shaped Pond and the Nine Meandering Streams in front of it. The base site is at the very center of a beautifully pleasant scenery surrounded by mountains and river. The 195-acre ancient building complex still retains hundreds of ancient buildings from the Ming Dynasty to the early Republic of China. Zhoushan Second Village has a large number of ancient buildings of high value, and has received extensive attention from the outside world. At present, the village has announced 2 units immovable cultural relics of municipal cultural preservation, and 5 immovable cultural relics that have been announced as municipal cultural preservation points. Furthermore, as many as 18 immovable cultural relics have been officially listed in the third national census of cultural relics. In December 2018, Zhoushan ancient residential scenic area was successfully rated as a national 3A tourist attraction. The total planned area of the scenic spot is 23.76 hectares, or about 357 mu. According to the provincial policy of protection of key villages named "Repair the Old as Old", the ancient buildings have been significantly repaired. The ancient architecture of Zhoushan Second Village is based on the ancestral temple community and integrates various artistic carving techniques, with exquisitely crafted engraved patterns. The contents displayed are mainly mascots, scenic spots, opera stories and so on, showing the ancient people's originality in art and their elegant taste for life.
PANLONG VALLEY ECO-TOURISM AREA
The project area of the Panlong Valley Ecotourism Zone in Yongkang City covers a total area of 3000 mu, a total construction area of 30,000 square meters, east to the Reservoir, south to Tangtou village’s mountain, west to the Shiya village’s field, north to Dachen village and Tangtou village. The project has been included in the pilot project for sloping villages and towns in Zhejiang Province, and the control plan with its specific implementation plan are currently in progress. The total investment has been 570 million yuan. By 2017, the planned investment was 4 million yuan, and the completed investment reached 6.69 million yuan, with a completion rate of 167.25%. In 2017, the construction of The Viewing Pavilion, The Lion Mountain Road construction and the greening project were completed. 13 cabins have been built, the road leading to the cabins and the walking path have been realized, and the renovation of the second phase of the cabins and surrounding greening has been accomplished. The scenic area is densely populated by renowned gardens: The Graceful Peony Garden, The Plum Garden in Full Bloom and Snow, the Bamboo Garden of Refreshing Breeze, the Cherry Blossom Corridor and the Ginkgo corridor. In addition, there are selenium-rich pear gardens, red orange gardens and waxberry gardens for fruit picking, which attract a large number of tourists every year. Rich natural landscapes and profound cultural accumulations are integrated into the eight scenic spots of Panlong: Shideng Lotus Rain, the Wooden House style, Songxi waiting for the moon, the Old Well Spring, the Quiet Valley Clouds, the ancient road of Songhua, the Wooden House style, and The Longhu Morning Fog.
INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION CENTER
Yongkang International Convention and Exhibition Center was built in 2011, funded and constructed by Zhejiang’s China Science and Technology Hardware City Group Co., LTD., with a total investment of 1.08 billion yuan and a total land area covering 176,000 square meters. The whole complex consists of 10 exhibition halls, preface halls, office buildings and squares, including four functional zones. The center can hold 3,500 indoor standard booths and 1,500 outdoor booths, with a total area of 100,000 square meters. China Hardware Expo, China (Yongkang) International Door Industry Expo and many other exhibitions are held here more than 36 times every year. The finest products exhibition hall is located in the Z Hall on the second floor, with a covered area of 7560 square meters, a key marketing platform for displaying the most shining products of Yongkang hardware. The exhibition hall has been designed according to the eight main industries, including the Door Industry, the Cupware Industry, the Automotive Industry, the Electric Tools and Electric Kitchenware Industries, the Military-civilian Integration and Medical Equipment; and it also accommodates a shopping area for hardware products. Products on display are updated more than twice a year, with a renewal rate of more than 70%. Exhibits are gathered from thousands of the city’s hardware manufacturers, strictly filtered by screening out more than 4000 pieces of the most exemplar hardware products, bringing together Yongkang's top 100 taxpayers, the most excellent taxpayers, and renowned, special, and top-quality products from small and medium-sized enterprises. At present, more than 100 companies have settled in the exhibition hall, and more than 40 of them have set up special booths in the exhibition hall. These special booths reflect their own corporate culture with their unique decoration methods, and at the same time, they also show the “unlimited and profound” essence of Yongkang hardware products.
